Let me start out by saying that I LIKE this shawl/scarf and this is why I gave it a 4 star rating. However, the picture is very, very misleading. Perhaps I missed something in the description but this is a very light weight silk. It's not at all what I expected in terms of heft. This type of a shawl is more suited for use as a fashion accessory to be used in balmier weather. Certainly not in the dead of winter which is when I wear all my scarves. I have numerous scarves, including a heavy duty 100% silk scarf that I never hesitate to wear both for it's beauty and functionality. This scarf is silk but it is sheer. Very sheer, to the point of being "see through". I would even say that it's delicate. Lovely, yes, but if your looking for something to wrap tightly around your neck in protective knots, this isn't the scarf for you.
