After 3 years of full-time use the 50 amp outlet on our RV failed. I had heard of the Smart Plug and decided it was the way to go. It took about 90 minutes to replace the outlet as well as the plug on my cord. Good instructions were provided and it was a fairly easy DIY project. It is so much easier now to connect to electricity when we set up and easier to disconnect as well. Based on the construction of the product, I feel that my rig is safer now.This item installs easily. I cannot really tell by looking if it is actually a better connection that old style, but it does lock in place well and is pretty easy to install. Hoping it actually is better than the old twist connections.value and MUCH easier to use than the one that came in the camper.
