Fanimation really needs to get up to speed on their own products. I bought an expensive fan with this module included and could not get the wifi to work. After a lot of struggling they sent me a new one. Same thing Same issue. Their support spent over an hour with me on the phone. The first support person was obviously young and all he wanted to do is get off the phone because he had no clue at all. I wanted to curse him badly because I got hung up on and wasted my time. I called again later during the week and got an older person that was more experienced. But he still did not know hardware. We struggled for over an hour resulting in sending me another wifi module. Got the replacement device and called Amazon support because I had the modern eero. Turns out the firmware is really really old and had to drop the security settings almost to nothing to be able to get the wifi to be configured. I enabled legacy mode and it finally worked. Once added, the app prompted for a firmware update. Surprise! They really need to send out those modules already updated with their latest firmware. Old Chinese garbage hardware. To save a buck they get inferior Chinese made hardware. I mean for crying out loud I paid almost 1k for the stupid fan, the least Fanimation can do is provide a superior product because I am paying top dollar for a smart fan. Hope this saves others time from these struggles. It now works well and Alexa also works well with it.
